JEFFREY R. BLACK
Jeff Black has performed the role of the clinic’s Executive Director since 2008. He is a graduate of Bethany College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Religion and Psychology. He brings 20 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector, worked as a Certified Personal Trainer received through the American College of Sports Medicine, and has 10 years of experience collaborating with health professionals in developing programs that improve the health of patients suffering from chronic illness. Jeff is an avid reader of professional development literature and considers himself an amateur outdoors physical activity enthusiast. He enjoys hiking, biking, camping, swimming, fossil hunting, and occasional spelunking
JEANNE M. BLACK, CNP
Jeanne has been Angels of Mercy’s Clinic Director since 1997 and has practiced as a board certified nurse practitioner in Virginia since 1983. She earned her diploma as a Registered Nurse from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Philadelphia, and her degree as a nurse practitioner from George Washington University’s School of Medicine in Washington D.C. In addition to receiving numerous awards for providing quality healthcare, Jeanne is a healthy lifestyles advocate, an avid reader, an amateur artist, and enjoys gardening.
GEORGE R. MCBEATH, MD
Dr. McBeath has volunteered as the clinic’s Medical Director since 2004 and has practiced medicine in greater Williamsburg since 1991. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the College of William and Mary, and his Doctor of Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia. He enjoys running and other outdoor activities. Dr. McBeath currently serves on the Board of Walsingham Academy.
MONIQUE N. SESSLER, MD
Dr. Sessler has performed the role as the clinic’s Collaborating Physician since 2008 and has practiced medicine on the Peninsula and greater Williamsburg since 1997. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Universidade Federal Fluminense in Brazil, and for several years has served as a member of adjunct faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Sessler speaks five languages, enjoys culinary arts, and swims at our local YMCA
BEVERLY SMITH, RN, MSN
Beverley has been Angels of Mercy's RN Diabetes Educator since 2008 and practiced as a Certified Diabetes Educator in the Hampton Roads for more than 20 years. Beverley earned her diploma as a Registered Nurse from the University of Virginia, and earned her Bachelor’s in nursing and Master’s of Nursing Administration degrees from Old Dominion University. Since retiring in the greater Williamsburg area, Beverly has enjoyed many activities including water skiing, gardening, and participating in local civic organizations. She is the current President of the Toano Garden Club.
